Right I'll start of how it started. At the age of 8 I had a bad accident that ended up spreading my septum from my face all the cartilage dissolved resulting in my nose sagging to one side and completely blocking my right nostril and my left had a tiny passage that I could barely sneeze threw I met Tim briggs and Portsmouth hospital when I was 27 as I'd had re occurring sinusitis and bad hay fever a few visiting went past with lots of help and reassurance on the procedure I was going to have to fix my nose with part of a rib bone and cartilage it went perfect I couldn't of asked for better care from dr Tim Briggs from start to finish it was amazing I'm am glad to have met him as a person would recommend to anyone and couldn't praise Him enough on the amazing job he has done many thanks and kind regards. Putting the one year wait to one side this was one of the best NHS experiences I have and that comes from someone described as difficult and demanding!

Profile

Mr Tim Biggs
MB BCh DOHNS PhD FRCS (ORL-HNS)

I am a Consultant Surgeon who specialises in conditions of the nose and sinuses. I am an Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and Rhinoplasty/Septorhinoplasty Surgeon exclusively at Adnova in Fareham, Hampshire (near Winchester, Southampton and Portsmouth).

I qualified from Cardiff University and after an initial career as a British Army Medical Officer and completing my basic surgical training, I was awarded a highly competitive NIHR Acadmic Training Pathway in Otolaryngology (ENT). I completed my higher surgical training in the Wessex Deanery, specialising in Rhinology and Facial Plastics. Towards the end of my training, following the completion of a PhD in Rhinology, I was awarded and completed the national British Rhinology Society (BRS) Advanced Rhinology Fellowship and following this an Advanced Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship (including Rhinoplasty and skin cancer) at Winchester, Andover and Southampton Hospital.

I have published over 60 peer reviewed articles, undertaken over 30 national/international presentations, and been awarded over 25 prizes & fellowships. I am on the specialist GMC register for Otolaryngology (ENT), a member of ENT-UK, and the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery.

I undertake a variety of complex nasal surgeries, including functional endoscopic sinus surgery, frontal sinus surgery, orbital decompression, endoscopic sinonasal cancer resection; but my main interest and passion lies in Rhinoplasty/Septorhinoplasty. I have a large NHS practice, which means I undertake these procedures very regularly. I am certified as a cosmetic nasal surgeon through the Royal College of Surgeons. I use a number of advanced techniques not widely available on the nhs or privately, including dorsal preservation rhinoplasty, Piezo ultrasonic rhinoplasty and donor rib reconstruction.
